Located at 745 meters MSL, this small village counts ca. 500 inhabitants and represents the commercial center (hence the name “Fiera”, Eng.: Fair) of Primiero. Its origins date back to the 13th century, when Primiero, a fief of the Welsperg family and part of the Austrian Empire, underwent a period of extraordinary economic development, thanks to the numerous copper, silver and iron mines. Among the historic buildings, we strongly recommend a visit to the Church of the Madonna dell’Assunta, an ancient Gothic church that houses a triptych, long preserved in the Museum of the Buonconsiglio Caste in Trento, and the Church of San Martino, the Church of the Madonna dell’Aiuto and the Palazzo delle Miniere (Eng.: Mines’ Palace).
